A baby plan is a series of pre-planned photo sessions that allow you to document your baby’s first year of life. Typically the number of sessions ranges from two to four. Sessions focus on capturing the milestones that your baby has hit and are a great way to preserve his ever changing abilities.
I offer two sessions, usually held at six and twelve months in my standard baby plan. Often times parents opt to add sessions at three and nine months, for a total of four sessions over the course of baby’s first year of life. The sessions only last about 45 minutes, to keep baby from getting cranky. Though fast, they are a ton of fun.
These sessions are all about tummy time and smiles. Your little one will be interacting and smiling more often. I usually will put baby on her tummy a couple of times during the session, but only for short periods of time so she doesn’t get too tired.
I think this is my favorite age. These babies are usually happy, happy, happy. They’re also often sitting, or at least can sit when supported in a basket or with a close by spotter. Six month olds also love their toes, and will often play with their little piggies when placed on their backs. See Harlow’s six month photos here.
Almost all nine month old babies are sitting, and a few are even standing at this age. They love to interact, although might start showing some signs of separation anxiety. I’ll often have mom over my should calling to baby to get his attention at this age. Check out this little guy’s gallery for some great 9 month old photos.
These sessions are all about completing that first year. Your baby is likely standing, and possibly even walking at these sessions. They’re definitely busy and it can be a real challenge to keep up with them at this stage.
After the year is over, I will often recommend creating a first year album. It becomes a timeless keepsake that you and your little one will look at time and again. You can also use your favorite photos from each session to create a collage or gallery wall as well.
